The carpet has been installed, and tile is now complete! Our basement is very, very empty (and it will be for some time, except for a scattering of Ethan's toys), but at least the construction in the main living area is done. The color in this photo looks really purple to me. Note: we have nothing purple in our basement.
I still have to go through again and touch up the paint, AGAIN! Hopefully that shouldn't take me too much time.
Some other good news: Ethan has FINALLY decided it is OK to sleep in a "big-boy bed". the only downside is that he has been waking up at 5 am every morning, climbing up the stairs, and jumping in bed with us. Not to sleep...to play. Here he is taking a nap. He loves his new room. It's twice as big as his old one, and the only furniture is his bed. He has lots of room to play.

How beautiful! And I know how you feel about Ethan's big bed. I always have mixed feelings about that, but eventually the novelty of freedom wears off and they actually learn to stay put. Eventually . . . which sometimes means months and months later . . .
