We had a lovely 4th of July weekend. Friday and Saturday we escaped the heat and went to the Colson's cabin. The weather was perfect. Aside from no sleep (my kids never sleep well the first night or two in a new place), we had a great time.
Saturday night my family came over for S'mores and fireworks. We can see the city fireworks from our front yard, so it was nice to stay home but still enjoy the festivities.

How fun to be able to see the fireworks from your yard! We didn't got this year - Doug was on call and there have been thunderstorms all weekend. This has happened the last 3 years. I feel pretty guilty that my kids haven't seen live fireworks in that long. I bet Max doesn't remember what they are like. Bad mom.
